Microsoft slowly pushing some good features for SharePoint Online. One of them is to create a List directly from other site collections. Yes, it is true!!! Now and we don't need .stp files if we have list in another site collection and have permission on the site.
This feature is very much required when We have a demo site or dev site and need to migrate over the Prod site.
Steps-
1- Navigate to Site contents and try to add a List.
2- You will get a link in left Aav as "From an existing list". By selecting this link, you need to select Site and then List from that site as shown:
3- The best part, if it has any references, it will create them also
Please Note -
1- Right now, this feature is only for Custom List. In the future maybe we
will get it for other templates also.
2- I am also looking forward that we can create a list with existing content
type and at least for 5K items as we can do with List templates.
3- We may get the same feature for On-premise.If not then I will create it😏
